Region: CELJE
Organizer: European House of Maribor
Coordinator: II. osnovna šola Celje (II. Primary School Celje)
Number of the cooperative schools: 23 primary schools and 1 kindergarden
Number of children directly included: 4536
Number of children reached by the project: 6768
Total number of all reached by the project (parents and visitors included):
The number of all who were reached by the project in region Celje can be
estimated to approximately 9750 individuals. Included are 6770 pupils, 480
educationalists, 2200 parents, 200 other visitors of the final ceremony, 30
representatives of different media and 70 special guests at the final ceremony (city
councils, headmasters, mayors and county officials).
Number of newsletters published in the media (included are the school media):
The newsletters published in the media were quite many. There were 6 newsletters
published in local and national papers (check out the adds) and, surprisingly,
the total number of the newsletters published was at least twice as much, but
unfortunately, we did not manage to store them all. Regarding other mass media,
there were 22 radio newsletters on local radio stations, 8 TV broadcasts on
local TV programmes (VTV, TV CELJE...), and we organised even a press-conference.
Considering primary schools, there were totally 50 newsletters transmitted by
local school radios, and 24 notice boards, which were together presenting over
250 different bills and posters, were raised. Moreover, 13 schools presented the
project via their websites, and 9 of them also published it in their school
papers.
Specially for this occasion, a general presentation billboard of theproject was
presented, which we intend to use in a little modified version even in the
future.
Organization and production of the project:
At the end of June 2005, II. primary school Celje was invited for cooperation in
the project called 'European Village' by European House of Maribor and by School
for Headmasters. We cheerfully responded to that invitation and participated in
the first meeting at Brdo pri Kranju. We learnt about the aims and the ways for
producing such a project. Later on, we presented the matter to the colleagues at
school and decided to to take over the coordinatorship of this project in region
Celje. At our school, the project team was organised which designed a working
plan and began with introductional activities. We were in search for the schools
which would be ready to join in the partnership. The response to our invitation
was amense. We got the alliance of 22 primary schools and one kindergarden, all
situated in region Celje. In September, the first working meeting was organised.
The mentors of the cooperative schools and the kondergarden were acquainted with
the contents and aims of the project and the ways of performing the project
activities. On our second meeting in February 2006, we revised the realisation
of the activities planned and get down to planning of the final ceremony – the
opening of the European Village in May 9th 2006.
At the schools and at a kindergarden which participated, working teams were
shaped which took over the planning and the production of the project activities.
Each of the schools and the kindergarden overtook the presentation of one of the
countries in European Union.
II. primary school did as a coordinator take over all the duties regarding the
organization of the final ceremony which has been very successful. The obvious
testimonials the photos which can be found in the gallery. >>>
